First Officer - "Captain! Engineering reports reactor shutdown imminent, and hull integrity is virtually nil!"

Captain Chase - "So. That last fighter strike finished us, eh? Sparks, signal Abandon Ship. All hands to the life pods."

Comm Officer - "Aye aye, Captain! All hands! Abandon ship! Captain, signalling Code Omega."

Captain Chase - "Very well. Clear the bridge. I'll be along momentarily."

<everybody leaves except the Captain>

Captain Chase - "All EA vessels, this is Queensland. We have suffered a life support and reactor failure, and are abandoning ship. For their sake, please pick up the lifepods with my crew. The reactor won't be going critical, so you have nothing to fear there. I myself will be joining my family in the afterlife."

First Officer - (in the distance) "Captain! Come on! We've got to get out of here!"

Captain Chase - "I'm coming. I'm coming. (moves to lifepod station) Here. Hold these for me. It's a copy of the ship's log, and a report of the battle."

<Captain Chase shuts the lifepod hatch, and activates the override>

Weapons Officer - "Captain! No! There aren't any more pods!"

Captain Chase - "In the past, the winners wrote the histories, because the losers were often no longer around to contribute. You're to insure that not everything written about this battle is one-sided. You all still have your lives ahead. I've lost everything: My family. My ship. My nation. My heart. Go in peace, and make sure the truth is heard. We fought, not for Clarke, but for the Earth Alliance! Never forget that! Good luck."

<lifepod ejects>

Captain Chase - *sigh*

<Captain approaches the camera>

Captain Chase - "Yes, I knew the comm channel was open for you to hear. But what I said was true. I have nothing left, and we did fight for Earth, not Clarke. Save my crew. Please! Queensland out."
