My intentions are to stand with General Hauge against the darkness engulfing the Alliance. Clarke has taken control of the EA by murdering its elected head, and is now trying use the military to cling to power. I will not wait until this madman orders me to fire on civilians, or my collegues - he must be stopped.

In an ideal world, this would be achived through the due process of law, as Commodore Field has suggested, however, while Clarke controls the armed forces, it would be suicide to attempt to impeach him. Much as it saddens me, the only way this is going to be resolved is if we refuse to follow the murderer's commands, and prevent others from following them.

I would hope that this could be achieved without further bloodshead, the events at Wolf 424 show the tragedy of fighting ourselves. I call upon all captains with a shred of honor in them, to renounce Clarke's leadership, and do whatever is necessary to restore democracy to Earth.

Unfortunatly, as events elsewhere show, there are others who /are/ prepared to follow Clarke's orders, and kill their fellow humans to keep him in power. I call on them to leave now, before more lives are lost.

As for the WEBER, we will not initiate the use of force, but we are prepared to defend ourselves and all honourable men against Clarke's puppets.
