Cpt. Thomas suffers from a rare neurological condition which requires the use of an implanted interface between his brain and his spinal column - without this device he is unable to move or communicate with the outside world. Unfortunatly, the rare micro power cells used in this device are virtually depleted, and it is my duty to relieve Cpt. Thomas of duty until replacements can be found.

- nominated Cpt. Heck (recently rescued from one of the SENECA's escape pods) as his temporary successor (our own first officer is also in Med Lab, suffering from vaccuum exposure).
